Clearly demonstrate the difference between longitudinal and transverse waves!
 A simple crank of a handle will generate longitudinal and transverse waves! Economical wave apparatus contains eccentric discs which support a series of metal rods attached to a revolving handle. Your students will generate transverse and longitudinal waves and describe their differentiating characteristics. They’ll immediately see the wave forms and how they propagate. Apparatus can be used to demonstrate sound, light and heat waves; wave forms; and interference and propagation of wave forms.
